Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What kind of travellers is Kipasi for?

Kipasi is designed for families and small groups who want to experience Kenya beyond the surface.

If you are looking for a fixed itinerary, a large group tour or an all-inclusive package, this is probably not the right fit. If you value cultural connection, flexibility and the feeling of travelling with people who genuinely know the place, it might be exactly what you are looking for.

Is Kipasi only about safaris?

Not at all.

Wildlife is one of Kenya’s greatest gifts, but it is only part of what the country has to offer. The vision behind Kipasi is rooted in human connection — local communities, family traditions, everyday moments and the kind of experiences that are rarely found in a travel brochure.

Will we be travelling with other people we don’t know?

Never.

The experiences we imagine are designed for private travellers, couples, families or groups travelling together.

The intention is to avoid large group tours and create journeys that feel personal, flexible and relaxed.

What does Kipasi offer that we couldn’t arrange ourselves?

The short answer: The relationships.

Accommodation, flights and safari activities are easy to book online. What is harder to find is someone who knows which family to call, which community to visit and what Kenya actually feels like from the inside.

Will we meet local people?

That is one of the ideas at the heart of Kipasi.

Through family connections and longstanding relationships, we hope to create opportunities for travellers to experience Kenya through genuine human interaction rather than staged tourist experiences.

Are the Maasai experiences authentic?

The experiences connected to our Maasai family are rooted in real relationships and everyday life.

The goal is never to create performances for visitors, but to share moments, traditions and perspectives respectfully whenever appropriate.

What languages do I need to speak?

There are no specific language requirements.

We speak English, Spanish, Swahili and Maa, allowing us to bridge cultures and communicate naturally with many travellers and local communities.

And if your native language happens to be something entirely different, don’t worry. We are confident that, with patience, good humour and a little creativity, we will find a way to understand each other.

That said, if Latvian is the only language you speak, we may have to work a little harder.

How much freedom would we have during the journey?

As much freedom as you would like.

The intention is never to follow a rigid schedule.

Every journey would be shaped around your interests, preferred pace and the type of experience you want to have.

Is Kipasi already operating?

Not yet.

Kipasi Experiences is currently in development and commercial services are not yet available.

We are currently preparing the launch of the project, with the goal of welcoming our first travellers during the second half of 2026.

In the meantime, this website shares the vision behind Kipasi and the type of experiences we hope to create in the future.

How do we start?

Everything begins with a conversation.

Tell us a little about your family, your interests and what inspires you about Kenya, and we can start exploring what your ideal journey might look like.
